Cafeteria Monitor Position Title: Cafeteria Monitor Location: John F. Kennedy Middle & High School / Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD Hours: 10-month position (September – June) / Monday – Friday 10:30 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. Salary/Pay Scale: Per the CSEA Contract; $17.71/hour Job Goals: The main responsibility of a cafeteria monitor is to provide daily supervision of the students in the cafeteria and in the lunch line and wipe and sanitize cafeteria tables, chairs, and designated areas. The monitor should also participate in all positive rewards programs for students in the cafeteria, and ensure students are exhibiting appropriate manners, such as cleaning up after themselves and disposing of all garbage properly. RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS: The successful candidate will:

• Be on time and on duty as scheduled in the cafeteria every day that the school is in session and lunches are being served.

• Clean, wipe, sanitize, and reset tables and chairs in the cafeteria and designated areas before, between, and after each daily lunch period using appropriate cleaning supplies provided by the Buildings and Grounds Department.

• Ensure a safe, hygienic cafeteria environment by actively cleaning, and sanitizing tables prior to, during transition periods, and following all lunch periods.

• Build positive and professional relationships with students, faculty, staff members, and supervisors.

• Assist students in maintaining a clean and safe environment in the cafeteria.

• Demonstrate ability to implement strategies to address the behavioral and supervisory needs of all students.

• Fully participate in all school safety drills and procedures.

• Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.

• Sign-in and sign-out each day when reporting to and leaving his/her assigned duty.

• Supervise all students during the lunch times.

• Complete duties as assigned by school principals/supervisors.
