About the Position Salem Public Schools is seeking part-time instructional tutors to provide additional instruction and support to our elementary school students in literacy and math. Tutors deliver individual and small group instruction and work with educators at the school to target instruction. Responsibilities and Timelines

• Provides individual and small group instruction and practice.

• Plans tutoring sessions based on recent data, classroom observations, and teacher consultation.

• Provides progress-monitoring for students receiving additional supports.

• Maintains a weekly schedule; collaborates with interventionists, coaches, classroom teachers, and provides coverage for teachers so that they can meet with instructional coaches to strengthen Tier 1 instruction.

• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Teaching certification preferred.

• Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus.

• Proficiency in a teaching/tutoring capacity as acquired through prior experiences tutoring, teaching, or other education-related experiences.

• Current authorization to work in the United States.
