Help needed in Fine Arts and History (2 positions available) Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated Academic Coach to support high school students in building strong study skills, organization, time management, and academic confidence. This role focuses on helping students set goals, develop effective learning strategies, and improve performance across subjects. Key Responsibilities
• Meet once a week in small groups with students from January to April.
• Teach and reinforce study skills, note-taking, test preparation, and organization techniques
• Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with teachers, counselors, and parents
• Motivate students and help them develop self-advocacy and growth-mindset habits
• Maintain accurate records of sessions and student goals
• Competitions as needed. Most are local. State is at Purdue University (if qualifying).
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred (education, counseling, or related field)
• Experience working with high school students in tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or teaching roles
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and the ability to connect with teens
• Familiarity with academic support strategies and secondary curriculum is a plus
