Job SummaryYou will serve as a Scientist in the Network and Digital System Division, Digital Engineering Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION.

QualificationsIn addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-03 (GS-09/11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Physicist applying the results of scientific or engineering research to improve existing products, procedures, or services or to lead to the development of new products, procedures, or services; performing professional and scientific work in the investigation and application of the relations between space, time, matter, and energy in the areas of mechanics, sound, optics, heat, electricity, magnetism, radiation, and atomic or nuclear phenomena; and applying quantitative and qualitative methods, measurement, fact finding, and investigative techniques to provide managers with objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of agency assignments. Major DutiesYou will serve as the Optical Sights Baseline Manager and Subject Matter Expert (SME), executing In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) functions for the Gun Weapons System (GWS) as delegated to NSWC Port Hueneme Division.You will provide strategic leadership and technical direction to a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and logisticians.You will provide direct oversight and management of product deliverables, including technical data packages, training materials, and fleet support programs to ensure optimal system performance.You will lead the production of new technologies and build modifications, perform technical evaluations of items to resolve obsolescence issues, and anticipate future technology trends to improve system interoperability and reliability.You will serve as the NSWC PHD technical expert and liaison between Program Executive Office (PEO), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), the Fleet, Shipyards, and other program stakeholders.
