The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION Planning, organizing, coordinating and implementing numerous quality-related requirements as they relate to design, fabrication, inspection, installation, and removal for both off-hull and in-hull enclosures Determining and developing the fabrication, methods taken, materials needed to create and install, lay out work and equipment used for preparation and construction of radiological and non-radiological barriers and enclosures Utilizing calibration instruments to prepare and manufacture containment to include the use of drafting software as well as computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine to manufacture needed materials Constructing environmental, temperature, weather and other health-hazardous industrial operation enclosures off-hull Utilizing a variety of sensitive, calibrated and precision trade specific instruments and equipment Applicants must meet the requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualification Handbook for Trades and Labor Occupations. Major DutiesYou will independently evaluate and fabricate a wide range of complex Containment Barriers throughout the shipyard including areas such as radiological, non-radiological, nuclear and non-nuclear situations.You will plan, organize, coordinate and implement numerous quality-related requirements as they relate to design, fabrication, inspection, installation and removal for off-hull and in-hull enclosures.You will determine and develop the fabrication, methods taken, materials needed to create and install, lay out work and equipment used for preparation and construction of radiological and non-radiological barriers and enclosures.You will construct all types of environmental, temperature, weather, and other health-hazardous industrial operation enclosures off-hull.You will manufacture patterns and templates, unusual designs and constructed parts for Containment needs and enclosure layouts by hand and by computer aided drafting.You will measure, sketch, and design the needed enclosures related to fabric working assignments.
