Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience. One year of specialized experience which includes (1) advising management and employees on civilian human resources regulations, policies, and procedures across multiple functional areas, such as recruitment and staffing, position classification, incentives, and performance management; (2) providing strategic workforce planning recommendations to support organizational goals; and (3) managing, developing, or evaluating civilian human resources programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12 or above). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Major DutiesProvide advice and assistance in various civilian HR program areas to all levels of management officials within HQ AFRICOM.Prepare and present reports and briefings on program status and/or recommended actions to appropriate individuals.Assist in developing Human Resources (HR) employment policies and programs.Maintain program responsibility for one or more civilian human resources program(s).Conduct studies and investigations designed to improve the employment situation and resolve identified problems.
