As an Accountant (SYSTEMS), you will perform highly analytical assignments involving multiple data sources and business units.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience for the GS-13 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes ALL of the following: - Experience performing reviews of systems issues and developing solutions to enhance financial system processes and ensure compliance with governing policies and procedures; AND - Experience conducting briefings, presentations, and/or meetings on compliance related topics that impact financial systems; AND - Experience working with a team that develops, designs, schedules, and performs acceptance tests of financial accounting systems software changes
Major DutiesAs an Accountant (SYSTEMS), you will: -Provide technical and program advice to management regarding the priority of requested system modifications. -Coordinate acceptance test plans and review acceptance test results with affected users. -Participate in decision-making sessions and advise program managers on regulatory requirements, financial policies, the interpretation of data, and the pertinence of accounting data to program operations and improvements. -Analyze operations, financial systems, periodic and special reports, and systems edits to develop information on trends, anomalies or problems and develop solutions. -Provide advanced leadership in the coordination of accounting issues; develop regulations, procedures and guidelines for program and technical users.RequirementsAll newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period.
