Job summary
The advertised post is for a substantive Consultant in Diagnostic Radiologist with a subspecialty interest in Oncology at Barts Health NHS Trust.
We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our existing team of 86 radiologists based at The Royal London and St Bartholomew's Hospitals who support the existing service and the active training programme. The post will be based at St Bartholomew's Hospital with rotation to the Royal London as required.
This new post is required to support the development of the Soft tissue Sarcoma Service and to support the Haematology Malignancy Service.
The successful applicant should have completed training in diagnostic radiology and be within 6 months of their CCT. They should have a specialist interest in Haemto-oncology, ideally with fellowship. Duties will encompass coverage of Sarcoma MDT; Lymphoma MDT reporting and General reporting.
Main duties of the job
1. Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in his/her charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
2. Helping in development and organisation of the services in his / her charge in line with the Trusts' business plans. Liaison and communication with the Divisional Manager and Clinical Director for Imaging at Barts Health NHS Trust will be expected.
3. Development of their own interests and specialties within the Imaging service, including active participation in audit programs.
4. Corporate and individual responsibility for the professional management of doctors in training.

To help with the reporting of cross-sectional images performed across the Barts, Royal London and Mile End sites
To perform specialist reporting including whole body MRI and US and CT guided procedures
To contribute to the high-quality Consultant-led diagnostic imaging service at Barts and The Royal London Hospitals
To contribute to the specialist MDTs on a rota with subspecialist colleagues
To join the general on-call service 1 in 20 with SPR cover on site.
