About this role
*Overview* VIVID Specialized Dentistry is looking for a Registered Dental technician- Fixed for our in-house dental laboratory. This is a great opportunity for a technician to work on some of the most challenging cases in dentistry and to take his/her skillset to the next level. We have a spacious laboratory with multiple technicians and various CAD/CAM software, milling and printing units.
Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:00am to 3:30pm. No evenings or weekends.
*Duties*
* Fabricate dental restorations using CAD/CAM technology and traditional laboratory techniques * Interpret dental prescriptions and communicate effectively with dentists to ensure accurate production of prosthetics * Prepare and customize materials to match the desired shade, shape, and size of restorations * Use laboratory equipment to mold, stain, glaze, and finish dental prostheses with precision * Pour and trim dental models. * Fabricate crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers and implant restorations. * Stack porcelain. * Stain and glaze all types of restorations. * Design and fabricate guided surgical stents and temporary appliances to replace missing teeth while the patient is healing. * Adjust dental prostheses before final placement. e.i: custom shading while the patient is in the chair. * Maintain detailed records of work performed and ensure all restorations adhere to quality standards * Collaborate with dental assistants and office staff to coordinate workflow and meet production deadlines * Stay updated on advancements in dental materials and techniques to continuously improve craftsmanship * Design and print radiographic guides.
*Qualifications*
* A minimum of 4 years of proven experience in dental laboratory work or a related field, with a strong portfolio of completed restorations. * Licensed and authorized to practice as a Dental Technician in Alberta. * Proficiency in CAD/CAM software. * Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and restorative procedures. * Laboratory experience with various materials such as ceramics, composites, and metals. * Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and artistic ability to produce natural-looking restorations. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
