Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Prosthodontics residency programs. Work setting: Private practice. Specialty dental practice. Tasks: Diagnose dental diseases . Instruct patients on oral hygiene . Plan dental health treatment. Restore, extract and replace diseased and decayed teeth. Design bridgework, fit dentures and provide appliances. Take dental impressions. Conduct initial dental assessments. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. National Dental Examining Board of Canada Certification. Specialization or experience: Specialized environmental skills and knowledge. Area of specialization: Prosthodontics. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding.
