About the Position
*Kozak Ukrainian Eatery & Bakery* is hiring a *full-time Dishwasher* for our East Vancouver location.
This is an active, fast-paced position supporting both the kitchen and front-of-house teams by keeping dishes, utensils, cookware and kitchen equipment clean, sanitized and ready for service.
Previous dishwashing experience is an asset but is not required. We are looking for someone who is dependable, works efficiently, stays organized and is comfortable with physical and repetitive work. Training on our procedures, equipment and sanitation standards will be provided.
Schedule and Availability
*Full availability is required.* Shifts may include:
* Day and evening shifts * Weekdays and weekends * Statutory holidays
Applicants must be able to work different shifts depending on the restaurant schedule. This position may not be suitable for candidates with limited-day or limited-shift availability.
Responsibilities
* Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment * Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized and safe throughout the shift * Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely * Sort and return clean dishes and kitchen equipment to designated areas * Remove garbage, recycling and food waste as required * Maintain clean floors, sinks, work surfaces and storage areas * Assist with general kitchen cleaning and closing duties * Help keep kitchen supplies and equipment organized * Follow food-safety, sanitation and workplace-safety procedures * Report damaged equipment, shortages or safety concerns to a supervisor * Support the kitchen team with other basic duties when required
Requirements
* Full availability for weekday, weekend and statutory-holiday shifts * Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment * Reliable attendance and punctuality * Ability to follow instructions and sanitation procedures * Strong attention to cleanliness and organization * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks * Ability to stand for extended periods * Ability to safely lift, push and pull moderate weight when required, with reasonable accommodation * Willingness to learn and accept feedback
