Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive inspection of prepress files, verifying that file format, dimensions, bleed, registration, overprint/trapping and dot gain compensation meet printing requirements.
• Check fonts, image resolution, colour modes (CMYK/RGB) and linked files for completeness and compliance, and ensure they follow client requirements.
• Issue QC reports, provide timely feedback and follow up on the correction of problem files.
Qualifications:
• 1+ year of experience in prepress QC or prepress production; familiar with print file inspection procedures and knowledgeable about printing concepts and inspection points such as bleed, dot gain, overprint, registration and trapping.
• Proficient in using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop 2024 or later for prepress file inspection; skilled in using preflight and other inspection tools; basic knowledge of Mac OS.
• Strong file troubleshooting skills; able to accurately identify common issues such as insufficient resolution, incorrect colour modes, missing fonts or images, and incomplete text outlining (conversion to curves).
• Familiar with printing requirements and processes; experience in QC at film output companies or printing plants is preferred.
• This position requires the use of Adobe Illustrator. Please indicate your proficiency in Adobe Illustrator when submitting your CV, so as not to waste your time.
