About this role

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for prepress colour correction, colour matching, colour proofing and soft proofing of printing files, ensuring colour consistency between proofs and press output and keeping overall colour difference within the standard tolerance.

• Use Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat for image retouching, colour correction, tonal adjustment, grey balance correction, colour cast removal and detail restoration, adapted to offset, digital, UV and packaging printing processes.

• Proficient in the GMG colour management system and the MX4 proofing workflow; responsible for digital proof colour calibration, ICC profile application and colour file matching, ensuring proof sheets can be used directly as press reference standards.

• Responsible for prepress file inspection: resolution, colour mode, overprint, black plate, spot colours, bleed, fonts, channels, masks and shadow effects; identify printing risks and eliminate batch colour differences, dirty spots, colour casts, tonal breaks and minimum dot issues.

• Adjust colours precisely based on client reference prints, physical samples and reference images, and provide professional prepress colour optimisation proposals.

• Maintain the company's colour standard system; regularly calibrate monitors, proofing devices and spectrophotometers; archive colour parameters, ICC files and the MX4 standard colour library; and continuously optimise the SOP colour workflow.

Qualifications:

• Education: senior high school / secondary vocational school or above; degrees in printing engineering, graphic design, visual communication or digital media are preferred.

• Experience: 1–3+ years of prepress colour matching experience in the printing industry; familiar with printing processes for packaging, folding cartons, brochures, posters and labels; experience with GMG proofing and colour matching is preferred.

• Hard requirement: no colour blindness or colour vision deficiency; high colour sensitivity with the ability to accurately distinguish subtle colour differences; capable of independent colour matching, colour chasing and colour correction.

• Software skills:

• Proficient in Adobe PS, AI and PDF prepress processing; skilled in image colour grading, grey balance, tonal range, contrast, saturation and channel separation adjustment;

• Familiar with GMG ColorProof, the MX4 colour workflow and ICC colour management; able to independently establish proofing standards, colour matching, file conversion and soft proofing preview;

• Familiar with printing colour principles, CMYK overprint, black plate generation, dot characteristics, and paper and ink differences.

• Process knowledge: familiar with common colour issues in digital proofing, offset and UV printing; understand the effects of paper whiteness, ink absorption and dot gain on colour; able to anticipate and avoid colour cast risks before printing.

• Work ethic: careful and rigorous, stress-resistant, efficient, able to work overtime during peak production seasons, with strict execution of colour standards and a good sense of review and process optimisation.

• Candidates with dedicated colour matching experience at packaging plants, colour printing plants or digital proofing companies are preferred.

Job Advantages:

• A stable technical position with low substitutability and strong growth potential – a core technical role in the company.

• A full set of professional colour equipment and a standardised colour workflow – no need to match colours blindly by feel.

• A clear promotion path: colour team leader, colour supervisor.
