Job summary The Leeds Renal Peritoneal Dialysis Unit is looking for an enthusiastic, forward thinking Senior Clinical Support Worker to join its busy team. The Peritoneal Dialysis Service based at St James's Hospital treats and supports patients in home dialysis care. You will be working within both the hospital and community settings. The Peritoneal Dialysis Unit is open 7 days a week Monday to Friday 8.00am to 6.00pm and Saturday and Sunday 8.00am to 4.00pm. You will be required to work early and late shifts and weekend rotation.
A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Main duties of the job There is the opportunity for professional development and an individualised in-service induction package will be available for the successful applicant, supported by the Renal Unit Clinical Education Team.
The job holder will be actively involved in providing direct and indirect compassionate care for patients in support of and supervised by a registered practitioner. The job holder will assist in the overall implementation of care as part of the multi professional team. The job holder is expected to deliver and maintain high standards of acute and planned care. The jobholder will be skilled in taking appropriate action(s) to achieve the planned outcome. The job holder will contribute to the maintenance of an environment for effective care.

What you will bring to the role NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma in Health Level 3, Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent experience
The Care Certificate or in the absence of this the applicant must successfully attain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employment
Commitment to undergo training and education as required

Qualifications Essential
NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma in Health Level 3, Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent experience. The Care Certificate or in the absence of this the jobholder must successfully attain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employment. Basic skills Maths and English Level 2 (equivalent of GCSE 49 (A*-C)).
