Position Description
The Digital Merchandising Associate is responsible for shaping how SelectBlinds products are presented and experienced online. This role focuses on improving product organization, category structure, product naming, content, and visual merchandising to make it easier for customers to understand, compare, and purchase custom window coverings. Working cross-functionally with Merchandising, Creative, and UX teams, the Digital Merchandising Associate helps create a consistent, customer-friendly shopping experience that drives engagement, conversion, and revenue growth while supporting promotional initiatives, new product launches, and the development of merchandising best practices.
Position Responsibilities
Product & Category Merchandising
• Review how products and categories are structured and presented.
• Define clear category and collection architecture.
• Identify assortment gaps, duplication and opportunities to simplify ranges.
• Support new product launches and category development.
• Define how good/better/best and entry-to-premium propositions should be presented.
Product Naming
• Develop consistent product naming principles.
• Simplify technical or confusing terminology.
• Ensure names clearly communicate differences between products.
• Establish naming conventions that can scale across categories.
Content & Customer Communication
• Improve product descriptions and key selling points.
• Translate product specifications into customer-friendly benefits.
• Define the information customers need at PLP and PDP level.
• Improve educational and inspirational content supporting the purchase journey.
Look & Feel
• Own merchandising input into imagery, swatches, colours, icons, badges and product presentation.
• Establish consistency across categories.
• Work with UX and Creative to improve visual hierarchy.
• Ensure the site balances inspiration with ease of shopping.
Commercial Merchandising
• Support campaign and promotional presentation.
• Define category stories and seasonal merchandising.
• Identify opportunities to highlight best sellers, newness, value and differentiation.
Skills & Experience Required Skills
• Strong understanding of digital merchandising, eCommerce, and online customer behavior.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical information into customer-friendly language.
• Ability to organize and present complex product assortments in a way that improves product discovery and customer decision-making.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Knowledge of product categorization, navigation, product architecture, and merchandising best practices.
• Understanding of visual merchandising principles, including product imagery, swatches, badges, icons, and content presentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and consistency across digital channels.
• Excellent organizational, project management, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, UX, Product, and other cross-functional teams.
• Self-directed and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Experience
• 1-3 years of experience in digital merchandising, eCommerce, site merchandising, category management, marketing, content management, or a related field.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Merchandising, eCommerce, Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience managing product catalogs, website content, category structures, or digital merchandising initiatives.
• Familiarity with eCommerce platforms, content management systems (CMS), product information management (PIM) tools, and project management software.
• Experience using analytics and reporting tools to measure performance and support data-driven decisions.
• Background in retail, home goods, consumer products, or a similar customer-focused industry is preferred
Education
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or additional coursework in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, or a related field preferred.
