About this role

Salary: £65,000 - 65,000 per year

Requirements: We require weekly on-site working and the ability to travel as part of your daily commute to client sites in Newcastle, Leeds or Manchester.You must hold active Security Check (SC) clearance or be eligible and willing to undergo the clearance process.You typically need UK citizenship and at least five continuous years of UK residency, with no single absence exceeding 28 consecutive days, in line with UK Government security vetting requirements.You should have experience as a Business Analyst and be able to demonstrate it with tangible examples.You should be able to apply business analysis techniques such as SWOT and 5 Whys to understand business context, processes and systems.You should be able to elicit, analyse and validate business and user requirements using techniques such as BPMN process flows, wireframing and data analysis.You should be able to define epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements, and maintain traceability and prioritisation.You should have experience with business modelling, process improvement, and digital/data systems analysis.You should be able to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships and work effectively across cross-functional teams.You should be able to analyse and prioritise user experience needs and present insights in an accessible, data-informed way.You should be able to support testing by defining business scenarios and acceptance criteria and reviewing prototypes, test plans and outcomes.You should deliver to a high standard in large and complex organisations, aligned to recognised industry standards and frameworks such as GOV.UK Service Standards.You should be comfortable working collaboratively in multidisciplinary Agile teams.You should be able to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.You should have worked on major transformation programmes and/or across multiple project workstreams.Experience line managing, coaching or mentoring junior business analysts is required.Experience building meaningful, long-term relationships with senior client and third-party stakeholders is required.Experience working in central or local government and/or the NHS is particularly desirable.Experience working to the GOV.UK Service Standards, including passing service standard assessments at different stages, is highly desirable.You should demonstrate essential consulting skills, including continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, constructive challenge, user-centric and sustainable delivery, practice growth, feedback-seeking, coaching support, and contributing to commercial needs. Responsibilities: We collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams with product managers, software developers, user researchers, designers and other specialists to tackle complex problems and deliver meaningful solutions for clients.We build strong relationships with client stakeholders, understand their needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements.We ensure all work meets our high standards, including quality, environmental and information security policies, as well as applicable client requirements and standards.We use business analysis techniques to understand business context, analyse root causes, define problems, evaluate options and make recommendations aligned to strategic goals.We define and maintain epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria and non-functional requirements, while facilitating prioritisation.We represent organisations, processes, relationships and systems through business modelling and process improvement, identify gaps, recommend improvements and support implementation and validation.We support testing by defining business scenarios and acceptance criteria and reviewing prototypes, test plans and outcomes to ensure solutions meet requirements.We validate process and system improvements and help deliver project objectives effectively within Agile teams.We communicate complex information clearly and adapt messages for different audiences.We contribute to improving ways of working and drive continuous improvement within our teams.We share knowledge and best practice with fellow business analysts and other disciplines.We positively challenge decisions or solutions when needed to achieve the best client outcomes.We create lasting value through a user-centric, sustainable approach.We support the growth of our practice and wider capability by engaging meaningfully with Opencast.We provide case studies and updates into relevant forums from our project work.We support other team members through coaching and mentoring.We proactively seek feedback to improve our work and behaviours.We contribute to the commercial needs of Opencast, including supporting new business pursuits with business analysis knowledge. We are hiring for multiple Business Analyst (Senior Consultant) positions, with opportunities available in September. This role requires regular on-site attendance at our HQ, hub offices and client sites, as well as the ability to work from home, and includes travel across the UK as part of normal working arrangements.
