Requirements: 5+ years of experience within enterprise network operations and troubleshooting.Strong experience with LAN/WLAN, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS and DHCP.Knowledge of networking protocols including BGP, VRRP/HSRP, TCP/UDP and LACP.Strong troubleshooting skills, including packet capture and network diagnostic tools.Experience with AWS and/or GCP networking.Experience with Arista EOS / CloudVision or similar networking platforms would be highly advantageous.Knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, 802.1x, RADIUS and Zero Trust environments would be beneficial.Exposure to Terraform, Ansible, Git, LogicMonitor, Grafana or Prometheus would be advantageous.Experience with AWS Direct Connect or GCP Interconnect would be beneficial.Comfortable providing wider Windows/Linux systems administration support when required. Responsibilities: Support and maintain enterprise LAN/WLAN, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP and IPAM environments.Manage and troubleshoot firewalls, cloud networking and connectivity across AWS and GCP.Monitor network performance and availability, taking ownership of incidents through to resolution.Support systems administration tasks including account provisioning, server patching, storage and backup troubleshooting.Maintain network security through configuration reviews, policy enforcement and best practice.Support network design reviews and the transition of new infrastructure into production.Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, SOPs and operational runbooks. We are currently searching for an experienced Network & Systems Engineer to join a leading technology organisation on a hybrid basis in Oxford. The role will focus primarily on enterprise networking across campus, data centre and multi-cloud environments, while also providing broader systems administration support when required. The role is a 6-month contract with a daily rate of £450 - £550 and likely extensions. We work in a hybrid setup in Oxford.
