Job summary
We are looking for a highly organised, compassionate and resilient individual to join the NHS Children and Young People's Gender Service (London) as a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator.
The service supports children and young people with a range of individual needs and experiences, including those who are questioning their gender. Care is delivered by a multidisciplinary team working closely with children and young people, their families and carers, local healthcare professionals and partner organisations.
This is an important and sensitive administrative role. The Patient Pathway Co-ordinator will help ensure that children and young people move through the service safely and efficiently, from receipt of referral through the different stages of their pathway. Responsibilities will include coordinating appointments, monitoring pathway progress, maintaining accurate patient information, supporting multidisciplinary meetings and helping to ensure that information is shared appropriately and promptly.
We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate an understanding of the specific needs of children and young people accessing the service, including those who are questioning their gender. Previous experience in a gender service is not required, but candidates must be able to show how their experience, knowledge and approach would enable them to support this patient group appropriately.
