About the Role

Wood is seeking experienced Pipe Welders to join our Maintenance Team based onsite in Teesside, supporting planned maintenance activities, plant reliability programmes, and outages across the facility.

This is a hands-on role suited to highly skilled welders with proven experience working within industrial maintenance environments. The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out high-quality welding on critical plant equipment and piping systems, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Particular emphasis is placed on experience welding boiler tubes, pressure systems, and high-integrity pipework using TIG and MMA welding processes.

Working as part of the Maintenance Team, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and reliable operation of the site. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, as well as the ability to work effectively in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at height.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out TIG and MMA welding activities on a variety of piping systems and plant equipment. • Undertake repairs, modifications, and maintenance of pipework, pressure systems, and boiler tubes. • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site procedures, specifications, and quality standards. • Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, and inspection teams. • Contribute to the safe and efficient execution of planned maintenance and outage activities.

.Qualifications & Certification Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Welding, Fabrication & Welding or equivalent recognised apprenticeship qualification. • Valid CCNSG Safety Passport. • Any additional site-specific certificates, safety training, or industry-recognised qualifications will be advantageous. Experience & Skills

• Proven experience within industrial maintenance, petrochemical, chemical, energy, or process industry environments. • Strong TIG and MMA welding capability. • Experience welding boiler tubes, pressure systems, and high-integrity process pipework. • Safety-focused with a commitment to quality workmanship. • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary maintenance team. • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at height. • Flexible approach to supporting maintenance and outage schedules.
