An opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join the TB team which is based at St. Luke's Hospital. The successful candidate will support and develop the service. This is a fixed term 12 month contract to cover for maternity leave.
The TB team meets the needs of the local population and to ensure that a high standard of care is provided in relation to screening and treatment of TB. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated nurse with post registration expertise to join the expanding Tuberculosis clinical nurse specialist service at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The nurse in post will also work closely with the respiratory and infectious diseases teams and UKHSA.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be responsible for the management of a defined caseload of TB patients (and contacts) and will provide specialist nursing support, advice, education and/or care to that specific group. They will carry continuing responsibility for the assessment of needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards within the TB service.

The post-holder will have responsibility for a defined caseload of TB patients and will provide an effective and high quality patient-focused service that is sensitive to the needs of users and providers.
The post-holder will provide clinical, social and psychological support to their patients/service-users using excellent communication skills, education and health promotion to enable them to reach their optimum level of independence and health.
