• Perform comprehensive clinical assessments of new patients, including review of medical history, records, and relevant diagnostic imaging. • Coordinate and triage inpatient vascular ultrasound orders and review orders for appropriateness, recommending modifications when needed to support accurate diagnosis and efficient resource utilization. • Assess patients for contraindications, inadequate preparation, or other factors that may impact their ability to safely tolerate an examination. • Perform vascular diagnostic ultrasound and physiologic testing using advanced techniques and independent clinical judgment to obtain high-quality images and Doppler information. • Identify and communicate critical findings to ordering providers and facilitate vascular consultation when appropriate. • Review examination results and prepare preliminary interpretations for physician review and signature. • Provide ultrasound guidance and clinical support during sterile procedures in the operating room and at the bedside. • Conduct vascular screening programs for the community, both onsite and at offsite locations. • Provide clinical instruction and mentorship to diagnostic medical sonography students. • Educate medical and nurse practitioner students on vascular testing techniques and related clinical practices. • Apply critical thinking and clinical expertise to support patient care decisions based on noninvasive vascular testing and initial clinical assessments. • Collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. • Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach with a strong focus on patient safety, quality care, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. • Participate in ongoing professional development, including weekly vascular conferences and continued collaboration and feedback with vascular physicians and providers. • Work closely with physicians and other members of the care team to support efficient, high-quality diagnostic services and an exceptional patient experience. • Rotate between the main Vascular Center and satellite office locations as needed. Patient Population This position primarily serves adult and older adult patients.
Work Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent required • RVT certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) or RVS certification by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required • Graduation from an approved and accredited Ultrasound educational program required if certification is not yet obtained • Must possess experience and competence in vascular technology • Experience, determined to be adequate by Vascular Laboratory Administration, to operate equipment and evaluate images and waveforms is required • Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care required
