Job Title: MIG/TIG Welder and Sheet Metal AssemblerJob DescriptionThis role focuses on precision MIG and TIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly of components. You will interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, work with thin-gauge steel, and ensure high-quality fabrication and assembly of panels, moldings, and other metal components.Responsibilities
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of sheet metal parts and components. • Interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and engineering schematics to understand fabrication and assembly requirements. • Assemble and weld sheet metal parts, ensuring accurate fit, alignment, and structural integrity. • Work with thin steel materials, including 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32 inch thicknesses, using appropriate techniques to prevent warping and defects. • Carry out mechanical assembly of components and subassemblies according to specifications and drawings. • Fabricate panels, moldings, and other metal components using welding and fabrication tools and equipment. • Assemble steel pieces with various components to create finished products or assemblies. • Handle panels and larger components safely using lifting equipment and proper material-handling practices. • Inspect parts and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments or corrections as needed. Essential Skills
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding on sheet metal and thin-gauge steel. • Strong ability to interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and engineering schematics. • Experience assembling and welding sheet metal parts and components. • Capability to work accurately with thin steel materials such as 1/8, 1/16, and 1/32 inch thicknesses. • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly of components. • Skill in fabricating panels, moldings, and other metal components. • Ability to use lifting equipment safely to handle panels and metal assemblies. • Attention to detail and ability to inspect parts for quality and conformance to specifications. • Experience as an assembler in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. • Experience working from detailed blueprints and engineering documentation. • Comfort working in a production setting with set hours and deadlines. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot fit, weld, and assembly issues. • Commitment to safe work practices and proper use of fabrication and lifting equipment. The environment emphasizes safety, precision, and teamwork, with structured processes and clear documentation to guide daily tasks. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
