Job Title: Day Porter / JanitorJob DescriptionThis role supports cleanliness and sanitation within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The Day Porter/Janitor maintains a clean, safe, and compliant facility by performing routine and specialized cleaning tasks in accordance with strict sanitation, safety, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. The position requires 2–3 years of commercial janitorial experience, preferably in regulated, manufacturing, healthcare, or pharmaceutical settings. Responsibilities • Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of offices, production support areas, breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas. • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and clean floors and surfaces throughout the facility. • Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste according to established company procedures. • Restock restroom, breakroom, and cleaning supplies as needed to ensure continuous availability. • Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces to support a hygienic and safe work environment. • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety protocols, and facility cleaning procedures at all times. • Maintain cleaning logs and documentation as required to support compliance and audits. • Identify and report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel. • Assist with special cleaning projects and facility setups as needed. • Properly handle, label, and store cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines. • Operate cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and floor scrubbers safely and effectively. • Complete assigned work orders and industrial cleaning tasks within required timeframes. Essential Skills • 2–3 years of janitorial, custodial, or day porter experience in a commercial environment. • Experience working in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, healthcare, laboratory, or other regulated environments preferred. • Proficient in general cleaning and housekeeping, including floor care such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing. • Demonstrated ability in sanitization and disinfection practices to maintain hygienic conditions. • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and safe handling procedures. • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), GMP guidelines, and safety regulations consistently. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality standards. • Effective time management skills to complete tasks efficiently during the shift. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift. • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. • Skill in restroom cleaning and restocking supplies. • Ability to operate equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and floor scrubbers safely. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with industrial cleaning in manufacturing or similar environments. • Familiarity with work orders and documenting completed tasks. • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple cleaning responsibilities. • Ability to communicate clearly with team members regarding maintenance, safety, or sanitation issues. • Comfort working in a structured, procedure-driven environment with compliance requirements. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility and involves working in offices, production support areas, restrooms, locker rooms, breakrooms, and common spaces. The standard schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment is regulated and procedure-driven, with strict adherence to GMP, SOPs, and safety protocols. You will regularly use cleaning equipment such as buffers, vacuums, and floor scrubbers, and handle cleaning chemicals and disinfectants in accordance with safety guidelines. The position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds in an active, industrial setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coppell, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
