Job Title: Senior Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Senior Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by providing advanced technical expertise to the maintenance team. In this position, you offer hands-on support throughout the day, assist with line work, mentor and coach other technicians, and escalate complex issues to internal and external partners when necessary. You use strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical problems, and you approach every task with a customer-focused mindset and a strong sense of urgency.Responsibilities
• Serve as a Senior-level technical resource for the facility, providing advanced troubleshooting support and leadership to resolve mechanical issues in the manufacturing process. • Drive effective problem solving using root cause analysis (RCA) tools, accurate data, and logical reasoning to address equipment and process issues. • Diagnose equipment problems and identify long-term solutions to improve overall equipment effectiveness and reduce downtime. • Fabricate parts for production equipment as needed to support maintenance and repair activities. • Perform installation qualification (IQ) and operational qualification (OQ) on new equipment purchases to ensure proper setup and performance. • Support line-focused teams by participating in improvement projects, advanced problem solving, and root cause analysis activities. • Comply with all aspects of the Maintenance Planning and Work Execution processes to ensure work is completed safely, effectively, and on schedule. • Use and help validate preventive maintenance (PM) job plans to ensure they are accurate, effective, and continuously improved. • Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create, update, and document work orders and maintenance activities. Essential Skills
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician or maintenance mechanic in an industrial environment. • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. • Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment. • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical components, electrical systems, and pneumatic controls. • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and basic understanding of control systems. • Proficiency in using root cause analysis (RCA) tools and logical reasoning to solve equipment problems. • Ability to fabricate parts and perform basic machining or fabrication tasks for production equipment. • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to create and manage work orders. • Technical degree with 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in progressive leadership roles. • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment. • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to production needs. • Ability to work independently and as a Senior resource within a team, providing guidance and support to other technicians. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals, or food manufacturing environments is a plus. • Familiarity with maintenance planning and work execution processes in a regulated manufacturing setting. • Knowledge of preventive maintenance (PM) programs and best practices. • Ability to interpret technical documentation, equipment manuals, and schematics. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams. • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and mentor less experienced technicians. • Comfort working in cleanroom and controlled environments with strict procedural requirements. • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining compliance with cGMP standards. Hearing protection is provided, as some machines operate at higher noise levels. Part of your time is spent in cleanroom conditions where you wear appropriate gowning, such as gowns and hairnets, and follow strict procedural and cleanliness standards. Jewelry and cell phones are not allowed on the production floor to maintain safety and product integrity. The facility handles fruit-flavored powders, resulting in a noticeable fruit aroma throughout certain areas. You interact regularly with production lines, maintenance tools, fabrication equipment, and a CMMS system, and you follow established safety and cGMP guidelines while performing your duties. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
