Job Title: Material HandlerJob DescriptionThe Material Handler plays a key role in supporting production operations by safely moving, organizing, and tracking materials throughout the facility. This position combines general labor, packaging, and inventory activities with the operation of material-handling equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts. The role requires careful attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality processes, and consistent support of the production team.Responsibilities
• Clean and prepare forms and related components for painting and repair to ensure they are ready for use in production. • Assemble, disassemble, and replace components as needed to support ongoing manufacturing and maintenance activities. • Supply production employees with required materials by accurately identifying, locating, and delivering parts in a timely manner. • Move materials to and from storage areas, loading docks, and production zones using appropriate material-handling equipment. • Assist with unloading trucks, containers, and other deliveries, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently. • Read and analyze warehouse paperwork to confirm accuracy of orders, shipments, and inventory transactions. • Verify that all incoming items are received correctly and placed in their proper storage locations according to established procedures. • Inspect and operate material-handling equipment, such as overhead cranes and forklifts, in a safe and correct manner. • Maintain accurate inventory records, including counting, tracking, and updating stock levels using RF scanners or other systems. • Organize incoming materials and follow all quality processes to ensure products meet standards and are easy to locate. • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervision to support overall warehouse and production operations. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including tools, equipment, and storage locations. • Organize and maintain pallets, racks, and shelves to keep materials accessible and properly stored. • Ensure all products are properly labeled and returned to the correct location after use or processing. • Follow all federal, state, and local safety regulations while performing material-handling and general labor duties. • Identify and help correct potential safety hazards in the work area and report concerns promptly. • Adhere to all company safety rules and procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment. • Use required personal protective equipment at all times and ensure it is in good working condition. • Report or correct, when qualified, equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, material issues, or product deviations. • Act with integrity by being responsible, trustworthy, and respectful in all interactions. • Deliver quality work by following standard processes and making data-driven decisions when handling materials and inventory. • Demonstrate innovation through curiosity, self-awareness, and continuous improvement in daily tasks. • Provide excellent service by collaborating with team members, creating value, and consistently meeting or exceeding expectations. Essential Skills
• Experience performing general material handling and general labor tasks in an industrial or warehouse environment. • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts. • Capability to perform packaging, picking, and inventory activities with high accuracy and attention to detail. • Proficiency using RF scanners or similar devices to track and manage inventory. • Ability to read, understand, and analyze warehouse paperwork and documentation. • Strong focus on safety, including consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures. • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a dirty, non-climate-controlled environment. • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials throughout the shift and perform manual labor tasks. • Reliable work habits, including punctuality and the ability to follow instructions and standard processes. The typical shift runs from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for an initial period of approximately two months. You will work alongside a small team of general laborers and production staff, using tools such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallets, racks, shelves, and RF scanners. Personal protective equipment is required and must be worn consistently to maintain safety in the work area. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conley, GA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
