Job Title: General LaborerJob DescriptionWe are seeking dedicated individuals to perform general labor duties in one of two facilities. One facility specializes in cooking soups and broths/seasonings, while the other focuses on cooking and packaging pet food. This role involves assisting cooks, packing cases, loading/unloading, and utility tasks. Responsibilities • Assistant Cook: Work in a hot environment, lift up to 50lbs, and collaborate closely with cooks to create dog food or soups. • Case Packer: Load and unload trucks, bring raw materials to assistant cooks, and lift 30+ pounds. • Loader/Unloader: Frequently lift 30+ pounds and move racks of packaged soups around the facility. • Utility: Perform a combination of tasks from the roles listed above, acting as a 'Floater'. Essential Skills • Experience in food preparation and production. • Proficiency in packaging and general labor tasks. • Ability to sort and work on a production line. • Capability to lift heavy materials frequently. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Skills in mixing and batching. • General help in various tasks. We offer paid time off, vacation, or sick leave, with pay increases from $2.00 to $2.50 per hour. Work EnvironmentThe facility operates at 75 degrees and is not climate controlled. It requires adherence to GMP standards, including wearing a smock, hairnet, and safety glasses. Work is available in two shifts: 1st shift from 5:00am to 3:30pm and 2nd shift from 3:30pm to 2:00am, with 10 hours of overtime currently. Weekend work is voluntary. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Janesville, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
