Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics TechnicianJob DescriptionAs a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician, you will support the Operations Maintenance team by repairing, maintaining, and improving material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout a high-volume facility. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, ensuring reliable performance of conveyors, sorters, and robotics. In this role, you will also mentor junior technicians, sharing your expertise to help them grow and develop their technical capabilities.Responsibilities
• Repair and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) and pneumatic systems across the facility to ensure consistent and safe operation. • Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment, including conveyors, sorters, and robotics systems. • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance procedures to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. • Conduct electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostics on material handling equipment and related control systems. • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to support installation, maintenance, and repair activities. • Apply and demonstrate safety standards in all maintenance tasks, promoting a strong safety culture within the team. • Use maintenance management tools and CMMS systems to plan, document, and track maintenance activities and work orders. • Support conveyor maintenance and automation initiatives, contributing to continuous improvement of material handling processes. • Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization. • Assist with maintenance supervision activities and help coordinate repair and maintenance work as needed. • Mentor and guide junior technicians, providing hands-on training and technical support to help them develop in their roles. • Participate in risk management efforts related to equipment reliability, safety, and operational performance. • Collaborate with operations and project teams on control systems, automation projects, and process improvements. • Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays, to support facility operations and maintenance needs. Essential Skills
• At least 2 years of experience conducting predictive and preventative maintenance procedures. • At least 2 years of experience repairing material handling equipment (MHE), automated conveyor systems, or related mechanical/controls equipment. • At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics. • At least 2 years of experience applying and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment. • At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on material handling equipment (MHE). • At least 1 year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office products and applications. • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills for automated and material handling systems. • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills for conveyors, sorters, robotics, and related equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience with maintenance management and preventative maintenance planning in an industrial or distribution environment. • Familiarity with conveyor maintenance and automation systems. • Exposure to control systems and basic understanding of automation principles. • Ability to use data analysis to support maintenance decisions and continuous improvement efforts. • Experience with project management in the context of maintenance or automation upgrades. • Knowledge of Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies. • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance records. • Expereince in working with sorters, robotics, and other advanced material handling technologies. • Comfort mentoring and supporting junior technicians as part of a collaborative maintenance team. You will work around conveyors, sorters, pneumatic systems, and other automated equipment while using tools, computers, and maintenance technologies to support daily operations. The position requires the ability to move up to 49 pounds and to stand and walk for shifts lasting up to 12 hours, with or without reasonable accommodation. Schedules may include weekends, nights, and holidays to align with operational demands. The facility emphasizes safety, providing lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes as part of the standard attire, and maintains clear safety standards and procedures throughout the workspace.
