Job Title: Skilled LaborerJob DescriptionThis Skilled Laborer position focuses on commercial construction projects, performing a wide range of carpentry and construction tasks. You frame and build metal and wood stud structures, install and finish drywall, set commercial doors and windows, and complete concrete foundations and flatwork. You work from blueprints to ensure accuracy, follow OSHA safety standards, and help maintain a clean and organized job site while collaborating with a small crew. Responsibilities • Frame and construct metal and wood stud structures according to project specifications and blueprints. • Install drywall, including hanging, taping, finishing, and painting to meet commercial quality standards. • Install drop ceilings, cabinetry, millwork, and insulation with precision and attention to detail. • Set and install commercial doors, windows, and associated hardware to ensure proper function and security. • Form and finish concrete for foundations and flatwork, ensuring correct grading, alignment, and finish quality. • Read and interpret blueprints and construction documents to execute work accurately and efficiently. • Follow OSHA safety standards and all site safety procedures to promote a safe work environment. • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site throughout the project lifecycle. • Work effectively as part of a crew of 3–4, coordinating tasks and supporting team members as needed. • Use basic hand tools and construction equipment safely and correctly to complete daily tasks. Essential Skills • 1–5 years of commercial construction or carpentry experience. • Experience with framing and constructing metal and wood stud structures. • Proficiency in drywall installation, including hanging, finishing, and painting. • Experience with finish carpentry, including cabinetry, millwork, and trim work. • Ability to install drop ceilings, insulation, and other interior construction components. • Experience setting and installing commercial doors, windows, and hardware. • Ability to form and finish concrete foundations and flatwork. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings accurately. • OSHA 10 certification. • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites. • Access to basic hand tools starting on the first day of work. • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices on construction sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on high-scale commercial construction projects. • Comfort working as part of a small crew, typically 3–4 people per job site. • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the day. • Willingness to work overtime when needed. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adapt to changing project needs. Work EnvironmentWork takes place on commercial construction job sites, primarily in local areas. You work in crews of 3–4 people, collaborating closely to complete projects efficiently and safely. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with opportunities for overtime when project demands require it. The environment is active and hands-on, involving regular use of basic hand tools and construction equipment, adherence to OSHA safety standards, and maintaining a clean and orderly job site. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Victor, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
