Job Title: Forklift Operator – 1st & 2nd ShiftJob DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced 2nd shift forklift operator to safely and efficiently move materials throughout a large warehouse environment. In this role, you will operate a propane-powered forklift to load and unload trailers, support shipping and receiving activities, and perform basic equipment maintenance and housekeeping to keep the facility running smoothly.Responsibilities
• Operate a propane-powered forklift safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the plant and warehouse. • Load and unload trailers, ensuring materials are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations. • Perform daily basic maintenance on the forklift, including checking oil levels and completing routine safety checks. • Follow established safety procedures and maintain awareness of multiple forklifts operating in the facility at all times. • Carry out general housekeeping tasks to keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. • Complete required documentation of work performed, including material movement and shipping and receiving records. • Support material handling activities such as order picking, staging materials, and preparing products for shipment. • Assist with shipping and receiving operations, including verifying materials, organizing incoming and outgoing shipments, and ensuring accurate handling. • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity and quality standards. • Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate material flow and address any issues promptly. Essential Skills
• At least 2 years of previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse or plant environment. • Proven ability to safely operate a propane-powered forklift in a busy, high-traffic facility. • Ability to work 2nd shift hours, typically from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple forklifts operating simultaneously. • Ability to read, write, and understand English to follow instructions, complete documentation, and comply with safety procedures. • Strong attention to safety and adherence to established protocols and equipment checks. • Reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled 2nd shift hours. • Experience in material handling, including order picking, staging, and organizing materials. • Experience in shipping and receiving operations within a warehouse setting. • Familiarity with working in a large warehouse environment handling cardboard and other packaging materials. • Ability to maintain accurate records of material movement and completed tasks. • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a busy facility. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Biddeford, ME. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
