Job Title: WelderJob DescriptionThis role focuses on performing high-quality structural welding on the exterior framework of a high-rise building in Manhattan. You will work on flux core, MIG, and TIG welding applications to support the addition of multiple floors to an existing structure, ensuring all work meets safety, structural, and code requirements. Responsibilities • Perform flux core, MIG, and TIG welding on structural steel and building exterior framework. • Execute vertical and structural welds on high-rise buildings with a strong focus on safety and quality. • Read and follow project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes for structural welding tasks. • Prepare, align, and secure steel components prior to welding to ensure proper fit and structural integrity. • Inspect welds visually and with appropriate methods to verify quality and compliance with standards. • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition and report any issues promptly. • Follow all site safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment at all times. • Collaborate with site supervisors and other trades to coordinate welding activities on the exterior of the building. • Support the structural work involved in adding additional floors to the existing building. • Comply with Department of Buildings (DOB) requirements and all relevant safety and construction regulations. Essential Skills • Proven experience with flux core welding (FCAW) on structural steel. • Hands-on experience with MIG welding on building exterior and structural framework. • Ability to perform TIG welding where required for the project. • Strong skills in vertical and structural welds on high-rise buildings. • Valid DOB welding license. • OSHA 30 certification. • Site Safety Training (SST) certification. • AWS FCAW certification. • F60 certification. • G60 certification. • Ability to work safely and effectively on exterior building structures at height. • Understanding of structural steel welding requirements and relevant codes. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working on large-scale construction or high-rise building projects. • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary construction teams. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality and structural integrity. • Reliable work ethic and ability to follow instructions and site procedures. Work EnvironmentThis position is based outdoors on the exterior of a high-rise building in Manhattan. You will operate in an active construction site environment, working at height on exterior structural elements, using flux core, MIG, and TIG welding equipment and standard construction tools. Expect typical construction site conditions, including exposure to weather, noise, and physical activity, with strict adherence to safety protocols and use of appropriate protective gear. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Brooklyn, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
