Job Title: Maintenance SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Supervisor oversees plant maintenance operations in a union manufacturing facility, combining hands-on technical work with supervisory and training responsibilities. This role ensures equipment and facilities operate at peak efficiency, supports continuous improvement, and plays a key part in the planned succession to a future Maintenance Manager position.Responsibilities
• Lead and direct plant maintenance activities to keep equipment and facilities in optimal operating condition. • Provide timely updates to the Maintenance Manager on any issues that could impede plant operations, offering technical expertise on equipment and facilities. • Initiate, implement, and maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives and cost reduction ideas within maintenance operations. • Contact, coordinate, and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired maintenance and repair outcomes. • Maintain adequate inventories of spare parts and ensure critical components are available when needed. • Purchase materials, parts, and supplies required to support maintenance activities. • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and drive effective problem resolution. • Provide hands-on support on the plant floor while supervising, guiding, and training maintenance personnel. • Support safe work practices and reinforce safety standards throughout all maintenance tasks. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a clean, well-lit manufacturing facility that produces large packaging materials and containers using jumbo-sized machinery. The environment is industrial and fast-paced, with a focus on safety and reliable equipment performance. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential Saturday overtime one to two times per month, and is structured as a salaried role of around 50 hours per week.
