Job Title: Weekday AM Winder/KitterJob DescriptionThe Winder/Kitter operates production equipment to manufacture graphite or fiberglass unidirectional prepreg skins and then cuts these skins into 0/90 oriented kits for use as face sheet plies in honeycomb sandwich panels. This role combines machine operation, production, assembly, and kitting tasks to ensure high-quality materials are prepared according to detailed production work orders and in-process quality standards. Responsibilities • Operate winding and related production equipment to produce graphite or fiberglass unidirectional prepreg skins in accordance with documented procedures. • Cut prepreg skins into 0/90 oriented kits of material for use as face sheet plies in honeycomb sandwich panels. • Follow all steps outlined on the production work order to correctly formulate each product from start to finish. • Complete every step of the work order and perform required in-process quality checks to ensure products meet specifications. • Use hand and power tools, as well as measuring tools, to prepare, assemble, and kit materials accurately. • Work independently or as part of a team to complete tasks within established timeframes. • Balance multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. • Document production information clearly and legibly as required for quality and traceability. • Maintain a clean and organized work area in the manufacturing facility. • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and process improvements. Essential Skills • 2+ years of relevant, steady work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment. • Experience in production, assembly, kitting, and machine operation. • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with manufacturing equipment. • Good basic math skills to support measuring, calculating, and verifying material dimensions and quantities. • Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently. • Legible handwriting and printing for accurate documentation on work orders and quality records. • Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities while meeting deadlines. • Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. • Attention to detail and commitment to following detailed production instructions and quality procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in manufacturing environments is a strong plus. • Comfort using hand and power tools in a production setting. • Ability to use measuring tools accurately for cutting and kitting materials. • Strong work ethic and sincere desire to work and contribute to team success. • Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a clean manufacturing facility focused on the production of graphite and fiberglass prepreg materials. Dress typically aligns with standard manufacturing attire, including appropriate work clothing and any required personal protective equipment to ensure safety and comfort while performing production and kitting tasks. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Newport, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
