Job Title: Repair TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Repair Technician performs assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of FAA-approved temperature-controlled cargo containers in a dedicated repair facility. This role manages warehouse operations and material movement, ensures containers are delivered clean and free from defects, supports customers with technical assistance, and provides training and demonstrations on active systems. The technician documents all work in designated systems, monitors spare parts inventory, and helps maintain a safe, organized, and efficient repair environment.Qualifications
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform hands-on repair and assembly work beyond basic assembly line tasks. • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for repairs. • Basic electrical knowledge sufficient to support troubleshooting and repair of active systems. • At least 1–2 years of relevant mechanical, repair, or electrical experience. • Ability to read, follow, and document work instructions accurately. • Capability to work safely in a warehouse and repair facility, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization. • Ability to manage time and workload to support a schedule that may include early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a dedicated repair facility located at ORD that supports cold chain shipping solutions for airlines, freight forwarders, and life sciences organizations. The environment is a clean warehouse setting that, while not temperature-controlled, generally remains relatively cool. Work is performed on a first shift schedule, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with an expected workload of approximately 40–50 hours per week. Candidates should be open to occasional early start times, late finishes, and potential weekend work to meet operational needs. The facility uses a variety of hand and power tools, structural repair equipment, and systems such as CATS and work order platforms to document and manage repair activities. The setting emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficient workflow in a hands-on technical environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
