Job Title: Production TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Production Technician supports neutron radiography imaging of aerospace components by preparing parts for imaging, operating and assisting with imaging systems, and ensuring accurate documentation and traceability throughout the process. This role combines hands-on production work, equipment setup, and shipping and receiving activities in a casual, growth-oriented environment. Responsibilities • Assist in the operation of neutron radiography systems to ensure accurate and efficient imaging of aerospace components. • Perform pre-imaging preparation by fixturing and tagging components prior to imaging, ensuring proper alignment and clear identification for radiographic analysis. • Work in a red room environment to support imaging activities and handle components safely and accurately. • Manage post-imaging handling by tagging, organizing, and documenting components after imaging to maintain traceability and quality standards. • Coordinate packaging, labeling, and shipment of imaged components in accordance with internal procedures and quality requirements. • Receive incoming materials, verify documentation, and ensure proper routing and storage within the facility. • Set up fixtures, tools, and equipment used in imaging workflows, ensuring they are properly configured for each job. • Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on fixtures, tools, and equipment, and promptly report any issues or malfunctions. • Maintain accurate records of imaging activities, component status, and shipping logs to support traceability and quality assurance. • Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines related to radiographic operations, red room work, and material handling. • Support general production, assembly, and packaging tasks as needed to meet operational goals. • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of imaging and shipping activities. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or similar environment. • Experience with documentation and recordkeeping for 1–2 years, including maintaining logs and tracking component status. • Experience with equipment setup and repair for 1 or more years, particularly in a production or imaging environment. • Hands-on experience with assembly line work, including handling, packaging, and organizing components. • Quality inspection skills to verify components and processes meet required standards. • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate tagging, alignment, documentation, and traceability of components. • Basic math skills to support measurements, counts, and documentation. • Ability to follow safety protocols and regulatory guidelines related to radiographic operations and material handling. • Capability to work effectively in a structured production environment with defined workflows and procedures. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with troubleshooting production or equipment issues in a manufacturing or imaging setting. • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, including packaging, labeling, and handling incoming materials. • Comfort working in a red room or low-light environment for imaging processes. • Ability to adapt to flexible schedules and shift structures as operational needs evolve. • Willingness to learn neutron radiography imaging processes through on-the-job training on the first shift. Work EnvironmentThe role operates primarily on a first shift schedule with flexible hours, with typical coverage from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Training takes place on the first shift, which also offers flexibility to accommodate operational needs. The position involves working in a red room environment for imaging, as well as in production and shipping areas where components are prepared, packaged, and shipped. The work environment is casual and very relaxed, with a flexible dress code that allows you to wear comfortable clothing. The facility supports weekday operations from Monday through Friday, with the option to make up missed time on Saturdays. The organization is adding a new shift due to growth, and the work involves hands-on use of fixtures, tools, and imaging-related equipment in a production setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Fitchburg, WI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
