We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our friendly and supportive team. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality care to both our patients and staff and would love to hear from you if you hold the same values.
The successful candidate would need to be an experienced Phlebotomist. They would need to be flexible and adaptable to meet the demands of General Practice.
Candidates would need to meet the following requirements:
Up to date Phlebotomy Skills. Certificate required Intermediate computer skills (EMIS an advantage) Ability to work across three sites (transport needed) Able to work autonomously One late session until 8pm

Main duties of the job
Venepuncture (phlebotomy)Patient assessment BP, height, weight, BMI calculationEnsuring patient needs and care are met.Urine analysis & processing of samples including handling and storage of specimens in-line with IPC policy.Attending Park Road Group Practice meetings, scheduled training and appraisals when appropriate.Ensuring all training both mandatory and refresher training is kept up to dateAdhering to Infection Prevention Control & sharps safetyParticipate in the education and training of students of all disciplines and the induction of all members of practice staffMaintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with all other disciplines within the practice, with appropriate regard to confidentiality.Adhere to Park Road Group Practices policies & procedures.

The Phlebotomists role
Phlebotomists play an important part in general practice. They provide valuable assistance for both the GPs and Practice Nurses. Working under the supervision of the Practice Nurses & Clinical Manager and strictly in accordance with Park Road Group Practice protocols, they will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of specific patient care. They will be required to work in a team as well as independently and will be required to be flexible to the needs of the practice.
As a Phlebotomist at Park Road Group Practice, they will have been trained and assessed as competent in all clinical tasks delegated to them. They will have access to the advice and support GPs and practice nurses.
Main responsivities:
Venepuncture (phlebotomy) Patient assessment BP, height, weight, BMI calculation Ensuring patient needs and care are met. Relevant checks for QOF and enhanced services as required to ensure all areas of patient care are met. Maintain patient records ensure accurate records of all consultations and treatments are recorded in patients Emis records Urine analysis & processing of samples including handling and storage of specimens in-line with IPC policy. Attending Park Road Group Practice meetings, scheduled training and appraisals when appropriate. Ensuring all training both mandatory and refresher training is kept up to date Adhering to Infection Prevention Control & sharps safety Participate in the education and training of students of all disciplines and the induction of all members of practice staff Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerned with patient care and with all other disciplines within the practice, with appropriate regard to confidentiality. Blood glucose monitoring capillary sampling Oxygen saturation monitoring Diabetes pre-Nurse assessment Chaperoning duties Assisting with specialist GP clinics such as minor surgery & family planning Be responsible for relevant monthly call/recall Emis reports to support enhanced service QOF recalls Monthly stock rechecks & rotation Cleaning and re-stocking consulting rooms & clinical supplies in conjunction with Clinical Manager.
