Job summary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
We are looking for a confident and well-presented individual to join our phlebotomy team. The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations. The successful applicants must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.
Based at Royal Stoke the successful applicant will be expected to work at the community centres as well as Royal Stoke and County Hospitals You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail is important along with basic keyboard skills and applicants should enjoy the challenge of working in a fast pace patient environment.
Main duties of the job
We offer a phlebotomy service in a range of locations across North Midlands including Royal Stoke and County Hospitals, ward based, community walk-in centres and community appointment based clinics.

The Trust has around 1,450 in patient beds across 2 sites Our 11,00 strong workforce provide emergency treatment, planned operations and medical care from Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in County.
It is a requirement of your role you have access to a car for work purposes which must be suitable for travelling to community phlebotomy clinics and transporting samples back to the hospital It is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is insured for class 1 business use and the transportation of pathology samples Expense will be paid in accordance with Trust Policy when you use your vehicle for work purposed.

Qualifications /Training Essential
NVQ /QCF level 2 /apprenticeship level 2 or equivalent in related subject or GCSE English and maths at C grade or above or equivalent
Desirable
GCSE at grade c or above or equivalent in a science subject Care related NVQ
Experience Essential
Evidence of manual dexterity and technical work Experience of working as part of a team.
