Job Description: POSITION TITLE: Senior Store Design Manager
POSITION PURPOSE: Ensure quality and adherence to blueprints for remodeling or store construction, the selection and monitoring of contractors and quality and adherence to blueprints for remodeling or store construction. Develop and execute efficient financial plans for creative design process and planning. Responsible for the selection and monitoring of contractors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Manage North American roll-out architects to ensure day to day tasks are completed and store construction drawings are issued based on the posted tracking Schedule. Source new consultants as needed and train to meet GUESS standards, including CTRAX implementation. Manage drawing standards for assigned Brands. Coordinate projects with the Merchants, Corporate Project Management, Construction team and Visual Merchandizing. Develop new conceptual designs for assigned Brands based on input from Executive Management and Director of Store Design parameters to be used in all Regions globally. Partner with International Licensees, Corporate Operations and Merchant teams to ensure new designs meet corporate objectives. Continually stay abreast of retail trends and materials and present to Director for incorporation into store designs. Manage corporate sign offs for Regional operational and Corporate Merchant and Operations teams. Gather and present changing needs of corporate partners to Director of Store Design for review and incorporation into approved design concepts. Review and monitor all capital contract and project related expense contracts. Review and approve all billing against these contracts. Review and revise/approve Region 2 and Region 3 layouts for assigned Brands as they are received from Licensee and International development teams to ensure no concept changes are being made and store layouts meet Brand objectives. Develop new or revised fixture designs based on Regional operational needs and present to Director for approval. Hire, train and manage internal staff to execute Brand strategies. Develop processes and procedures to ensure all needs of the Regions are met in a timely manner. Manage Design Department: coaching, mentoring, setting goals, and project schedules. Responsible for forecasting workflow and staffing needs within Store Design, Project Management, and outside design firms and consultants. Partner with Purchasing and Construction teams in Region 1 to evaluate engineer concepts as needed, review and approve fixture prototypes, and new store and remodel construction. Visit job sites as needed to ensure concept standards are being met and partner with Construction Project Managers to refine details as needed. Partner with Wholesale teams to develop Shop in Shop fixture programs for assigned Brands. Review and approve flagship shop layouts and Regional changes as needed. Review and approve product licensee tradeshow, showroom and wholesale fixture programs to ensure Brand consistency. Develop professional skill set through computer software (3D rendering) and management training seminars and classes.
