About this role

Job summary

Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is recruiting for an advanced urology nurse practitioner to join our practice the Queens Avenue building in Newport Pagnell. This position is offered on a part-time basis, of16 hours per week, working Tuesday and Wednesday.

The successful candidate will act as an autonomous practitioner working independently and in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to provide assessment, treatment and management of patients with urological conditions within a primary care setting initiating direct referrals as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

Undertake clinical nursing practice at an advanced level using expert knowledge and clinical skills to deliver holistic care. Triage referrals received to the service. Assess, diagnose and recommend treatment. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and make appropriate direct referrals if indicated. Undertake and interpret a range of diagnostic tests and clinical procedures. Work within professional guidelines and codes of conduct. Work within all relevant practice policies and procedure guidelines. Ensure cost effective, evidence based service provision. Counsel and support patients.

Qualifications Essential

Professional registration with relevant professional body: NMC, HCPC or GPhC Post-graduate qualification in specific speciality, or equivalent experience
