Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Band 2 Receptionist to join the Endoscopy Department at Dorset County Hospital. We are looking for enthusiastic, capable and motivated individuals who will take pride in delivering high-quality administrative support within a patient-focused environment.
As a key member of our team, you will work closely with both clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service.
This is a fast-paced role that requires flexibility, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be interacting with patients, relatives and staff throughout the day
Main duties of the job
Welcoming patients to the Endoscopy Department and providing a friendly, professional first point of contact Accurately marking patient attendance and discharge on relevant systems Requesting, receiving and tracking medical records in line with Trust procedures Printing, filing and preparing documentation to support clinical activity Responding to face-to-face and telephone enquiries in a helpful and efficient manner Supporting the wider administrative and clinical team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Education & Qualifications Essential
General education to GCSE standard or equivalent, including English and Maths
Knowledge & Experience Essential
Relevant and recent experience in an office environment in a clerical/admin capacity Experience of dealing with in person and telephone enquiries. Understanding of Confidentiality
Desirable
Previous experience in a Healthcare environment Previous computer experience, including Microsoft Office package
Skills & Abilities Essential
Good numeracy and literacy skills Competent keyboard skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work without supervision Ability to work as part of a team
