About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the Colorectal CNS team.

This role involves being a lead within the team, and will be directly responsible for and line manage the band 6 CNS, patient support and admin staff, as well as working as an autonomous practitioner.

You will be a vital core member of the colorectal MDT, providing specialist advice and support to both patients and their families as well as other healthcare professionals. You will be involved in leading on the Lynch Geonomics and helping to support patients through this.

Main duties of the job

You will act as a key worker for patients with colorectal cancer throughout their cancer journey.

You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have confidence in communicating with staff at all levels within the organisation as well as patients and families. Sound clinical reasoning skills are essential, and you will be able to prioritise your workload in order to meet competing demands.

As a lead within the service you will need to demonstrate management skills, such as using health roster, managing sickness, appraisals and performance.
