Position Purpose: All Quality Engineers are expected to provide support and data to various process owners to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, interface with technical engineering disciplines and manufacturing technicians, assess risk for their assigned areas and mitigate it as appropriate, participate in root cause and corrective action activities, and champion quality throughout the organization.
Title: Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer II
Position Type: Full Time
Pay Range: $80,000 - $125,000
(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
On-site position at our Lafayette, CO location (work locations are subject to change based on business need).

Job Responsibilities:
• Build supplier relationships, reduce supplier caused defects, and minimize waste
• Take lead role in supplier qualification activities
• Work with the appropriate departments to process the return of non-conforming material back to suppliers
• Close supplier non-conformances documenting cause and corrective action
• Participate in supplier procurement status calls with purchasing, addressing or escalating technical issues to engineering
• Aid in supplier development by performing supplier audits and capability assessments
• Assess new suppliers, re-assess current suppliers
• Communicate with suppliers on all quality related items, including the assignment and receipt of SCARs
• Evaluate SCAR responses and coach suppliers on RCCA activities.
• Develop and maintain supplier scorecard rating system
• Other responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications/Education:
• BS/BA in a technical Preference given to Industrial Engineering, engineering, or statistics
• 2+ years experience in Quality Engineering and/or related technical role(s)
• Experience with ERP and PLM systems with a good understanding of procurement
• ASQ Certified Auditor, Quality Engineer, Certified Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt, and/or AS9100 Lead Auditor highly desired
• Familiarity with electronics and mechanical hardware assurance methods and tools (inspection, test, analysis) Familiarity with electronic and mechanical components is a plus.
• Experience with manufacturing (quality, engineering, measurement, and/or support) is required. Experience with spaceflight hardware and systems is a plus.
• Working understanding of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.)
• Previous experience with corrective actions, supplier engagement, and 3rd party audit support.
• Experience with IPC-600, 610, & 620 and J-STD-001 PWA and PWB requirements is preferred but not required.
• Experience with ASME Y14.5 GDT is a plus.
• Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
