Job summary We have an exciting opportunity for Night Recovery Workers to join our new 24/7, 365-day mental health service in Gleadless and Heeley, Sheffield.
Our service provides non-clinical mental health support designed to prevent unnecessary attendance at A&E and support people who may have been discharged from hospital but are not yet ready to return home.

Working overnight, you will play an important role in providing a safe, supportive and recovery-focused environment for people experiencing mental health difficulties.
We are looking for compassionate and experienced individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of people experiencing mental health challenges.
As a Night Recovery Worker, you will provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with a range of mental health needs. You will conduct wellbeing and welfare checks, support people to manage their mental health and emotional wellbeing, respond appropriately to incidents and crisis situations, and promote independence, dignity and recovery.
You will also maintain accurate records, contribute to risk management and safeguarding, and liaise with colleagues and external agencies where appropriate.
Working independently during the night, you will need to be confident in responding calmly and professionally to a range of situations, whilst ensuring the environment remains safe, respectful and inclusive.

About you To be successful in this role, you will need to be an experienced mental health crisis worker or have relevant experience of supporting vulnerable adults within mental health, social care or a related setting. You will have:
Experience of supporting people with complex mental health needs.Excellent communication, listening and interpersonal skills.The ability to engage with a wide range of people and build positive, trusting relationships.The ability to remain calm, professional and compassionate when responding to challenging situations or crisis.Experience of providing person-centred and recovery-focused support.An understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, risk management and professional boundaries.Experience of systems and accurate data recording.The ability to work independently and use your initiative during overnight shifts.Exceptional emotional intelligence and the ability to encourage and empower people who use our services.A commitment to promoting dignity, respect, independence and social inclusion.The flexibility to work shifts, including nights, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. It would be desirable if you have: Mental Health First Aid training.An NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification.Experience of trauma-informed practice.Knowledge and experience of safeguarding procedures and risk management. Qualifications Essential
