You will work with individuals on a one-to-one basis to:
Support people to gain and retain paid employment. Help individuals return to work following a period of absence. Identify barriers to employment and develop realistic employment goals and action plans. Provide job retention support and liaise with employers where appropriate. Support people to access paid or voluntary employment. Build positive relationships and inspire people to recognise and achieve their potential. Promote recovery and vocational skills through assessment, planning and appropriate activities. Work collaboratively with external agencies, including Jobcentre Plus and community providers, to promote the service and support positive outcomes.

About the Role Mental Health Matters (MHM) is recruiting an Employment Recovery Worker to join our Durham Wellbeing Alliance Brighter Futures Team, delivering a supported employment service. You will work with individuals on a one-to-one basis to:

You will manage your own caseload and work independently, providing support by telephone, video call and face-to-face in community settings. The role involves lone working, so you will need to be confident in managing your time, prioritising your workload and working safely and effectively. A driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable due to the community-based nature of the role. About You We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping people achieve their employment goals and improve their wellbeing. You will have experience of working with people experiencing mental health difficulties and be able to demonstrate your ability to: Inspire, motivate and engage people.Identify barriers and understand individual needs.Build trusting and effective relationships.Support people with a range of complex needs.Work in a community-based environment.Assess needs, develop plans and support individuals to achieve agreed outcomes.Promote recovery, independence and vocational development.Communicate effectively with individuals, colleagues and external agencies.Manage your own caseload and work independently while contributing positively to a wider team. Experience of supporting people within an employment setting would be advantageous, as would knowledge of employment rights, job retention and employment law. An understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and how it relates to employment rights would also be beneficial. You will be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or be willing to work towards this, in areas such as Advice and Guidance, Health and Social Care or Customer Service. Qualifications Essential
