Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an office Clerk to work within the Psychology services at Salford Royal Hospital as part of the Northern Care Alliance.
As a admin clerk, you will support clinical and non-clinical teams by carrying out a range of routine administrative tasks. You will help ensure patient information is accurate, appointments are managed effectively, and all routine tasks are carried out in line with service need. You will have to cover a reception service where required.
Main duties of the job
Greeting patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and friendly manner. Answering telephone calls and responding to email enquiries. Booking, rearranging, and cancelling patient appointments. Maintaining accurate patient records using NHS computer systems. Filing, scanning, and uploading documents to electronic patient records. Processing referrals, correspondence, and clinical documentation. Managing incoming and outgoing post. Ordering and monitoring office supplies and stationery. Supporting clinicians and managers with general administrative tasks. Ensuring confidential patient information is handled in line with NHS policies and data protection legislation. Working closely with colleagues across different departments to support patient care.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Computer skill qualification such as ECDL, CLAIT or equivalent experience
Desirable
Customer Service or Administration such as an NVQ, or equivalent experience.
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a Reception or administrative role preferably in a health care environment with patient contact. Previous experience of data entry/input

Experience of training and supporting peers Experience of working in a cross-team function, covering multiple areas with differing ways of working
Skills Essential
Understanding of confidentiality, data Protection and Caldicott Principles Able to recognise and resolve routine issues referring to a Supervisor or Team Leader, where appropriate Able to communicate in both verbal and written format Organised and methodical, with an attention to detail

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams
