Are you an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacist looking for your next leadership opportunity in a specialist clinical role? Frimley Health is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly skilled pharmacist to join our dynamic Older People's Medicine team as aBand 8A Lead Pharmacist.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical care within Older People's Medicine, while providing expert clinical leadership across the Trust.

Based at Wexham Park Hospital, this post also carries cross-site responsibilities, offering the chance to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and influence service delivery on a wider scale.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

A Postgraduate Clinical Diploma (or equivalent). Independent Prescribing qualification. Significant post-registration clinical pharmacy experience. A commitment to continuing professional development and advancing practice within Older People's Medicine. The ability to provide expert advice, lead service improvement, and support the development of pharmacy practice within the speciality.

Main duties of the job

To develop the clinical pharmacy service to patients within the specialist area. To provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within the specialist areas. To act as a role model in the field of clinical pharmacy practice and provide a consistently high standard of clinical service in line with the pharmacy objectives. To support the recruitment, management and development of staff under the postholder. To work closely with the senior pharmacists, clinicians, nursing staff and other senior managers to develop pharmaceutical services to patients within the directorate. To ensure close relations cross-site with the Older People's Medicine team at Frimley Park Hospital. To attend ward rounds / clinics when appropriate and able. Provide a clinical pharmacy service to specialised areas and a clinical pharmacy service to cover other areas when ward cover is needed.

Qualifications Essential

Pharmacy degree (Masters level 4 years) Registered with GPhC Postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent Independent Prescriber (or intention to become one) Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

Desirable

MSc or higher degree UKCPA membership RPS membership Formal management qualification

Experience Essential

Experience of producing guidelines Experience of producing drug appraisals Experience of managing staff Significant post-qualification experience working as a pharmacist in a clinical environment.

Desirable

Regular experience of providing clinical pharmacy support Clinical audit experience. Teaching/tutoring experience

Skills and knowledge Essential

Excellent communication skills Applied clinical knowledge Ability to adapt and cope with challenges Organisational skills

Desirable

Excellent IT skills Evidence of interest in research
