Our reputation is built on great drivers — and we need someone who can help us build the next generation of them. We're looking for an experienced CDL Driving Instructor & Safety Trainer who is passionate about safety, coaching, and helping others succeed. If you've built a successful career behind the wheel and enjoy mentoring others — or you come from a teaching or corporate training background and hold a CDL — we'd like to talk with you. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS $65,000 – $75,000 annual salary Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Company-paid life insurance Paid vacation and holidays Stable, full-time, year-round employment Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development WHAT YOU'LL DO Conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel CDL training for newly hired drivers Deliver training in accordance with Starr standards, FMCSA regulations, and industry best practices Evaluate driver performance and provide coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback Conduct road evaluations and skills assessments Provide refresher, remedial, and safety-focused training for current drivers as needed Reinforce defensive driving techniques, passenger safety practices, and customer service expectations Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, ELDT, and state licensing requirements Maintain accurate training records Support driver development initiatives Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement WHO WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE Takes pride in developing people and watching them grow Leads by example, on and off the road Believes safety is non-negotiable, no exceptions Wants to leave the industry better than they found it Comes from any background — motorcoach, trucking, school transportation, transit, or driver training — and brings that perspective to the team
