MDS Assistant (LPN/RN) - Per Diem
Job Description: The Highlands at Brighton, an affiliate of UR Medicine, provides more specialty care services than any other transitional or long-term care facility in our region. We provide comprehensive care throughout our five specialized units.
We have an exciting opportunity available for a per diem MDS Assistant. The MDS Assistant completes insurance authorizations, sends insurance updates, and assists with the MDS process.
Schedule: Per Diem, Flexible Schedule! Hours: 8-10 hours/week with the potential for more! Pay Range: $25/hr.-$35/hr.
Responsibilities: -Obtains authorization from insurance companies prior to patient admission. -Sends clinical information to insurance companies on a continued basis for ongoing coverage. -Monitors insurance levels to make sure they match the MDS score and claim. -Completes MDS. -Provides guidance and education to Nurse Managers, Social Workers, Recreational Therapists, Dietitians, and other MDS staff for accurate coding of the MDS.
Job Requirements: • Current NYS LPN or RN license in good standing • Minimum of one year of long term care experience preferred
• Familiarity with MDS and insurance authorization experience preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
