About this role
To be hired to teach Family and Consumer Sciences, a candidate must meet one of the following requirements: 1. Hold a 4-year Resident Educator Career-Technical Family and Consumer Science License, 5-year Professional Career Technical Family and Consumer Science License, 5-year Professional Vocational Family and Consumer Science License or a Permanent Vocational Family and Consumer Science Certificate. 2. Qualify for a Provisional License for Career-Technical Workforce Development in one of the following as outlined in Section 3.1. a. Culinary Arts b. Early Childhood Education c. Hotels and Resorts 3. Qualify for a Supplemental License in Career-Technical Workforce Development in one of the following as outlined in Section 3.2.1. a. Culinary Arts b. Early Childhood Education c. Hotels and Resorts 4. Qualify for a Supplemental Career-Technical Family and Consumer Science License as outlined in Section 3.2.2. Functions/Duties *Follow the FCS Content Standard as well as the Toledo Public Schools FCS Course of Study *Be able to function as a high school teacher using proper discipline techniques according to TPS discipline codes as well as application of appropriate discipline techniques *Maintain lesson plans according to the FCS Content Standard *Maintain an Advisory Committee (strongly recommended) *Participate in FCCLA as an advisor *Integrate core subjects into the FCS curriculum
