Position Summary The TAG Teacher / Student Services position provides leadership and support for students through a combination of gifted and talented programming and student services. This role collaborates with teachers, students, families, and school staff to identify student needs, provide targeted support, and develop learning opportunities that challenge and engage students. The position promotes academic growth, student well-being, and equitable access to meaningful learning experiences. Essential Responsibilities Student Learning & Achievement
• Provide TAG services and targeted student supports that meet individual needs and promote academic growth. • Collaborate with teachers to provide differentiated, enriched, and engaging learning opportunities. • Use student data to monitor progress and adjust instruction and supports. Relationships & Culture
• Build positive relationships with students and create a safe, inclusive, and student-centered environment. • Help students develop confidence, independence, and self-advocacy. • Promote a culture where all students are valued, supported, and challenged. Family & Community Engagement
• Communicate effectively with families about student strengths, needs, progress, and supports. • Partner with families and community resources to support student success. Professional Collaboration & Growth
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, support staff, and student services teams to coordinate student support. • Participate in problem-solving, student support, and professional learning opportunities. • Maintain accurate, confidential records and stay current in practices related to TAG and student services. Qualifications
• Valid Iowa Teaching License • TAG endorsement preferred or required, as applicable. Professional Expectations
• Contract days and salary placement are determined by the Master Contract agreement. • Evaluation will be conducted in accordance with the Iowa Teaching Standards and district evaluation procedures. • Employment is contingent upon valid Iowa licensure and required endorsements. Terms of Employment Employment terms, salary, benefits, and evaluation procedures are established by the Storm Lake Community School District Board of Education and applicable agreements. Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactory performance and compliance with district policies and state and federal regulations.
