Mechanical Engineer – Instrument & Sensor Engineering

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Instrument & Sensor Engineering team, which has product responsibility for all Sound & Vibration products manufactured in Virum. As part of Product Engineering within the Operations organization, we work at the intersection of daily operational support and long-term product and manufacturing improvements.
The Role
This position is ideal for a Mechanical Engineer with 5+ years of experience who enjoys combining product ownership, technical leadership, problem solving, and close collaboration with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and R&D.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Product Responsibility for the Coupler Portfolio
• Drive design improvements and optimization of existing products throughout their lifecycle.
• Investigate product failures and quality issues related to mechanical design and performance.
• Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure products remain robust, reliable, and manufacturable.
• Mechanical Engineering Lead within Product Engineering
• Act as the mechanical focal point within Product Engineering.
• Promote engineering best practices, design standards, and technical excellence.
• Provide mechanical expertise across projects and operational activities.
• Participate in our local network of mechanical engineering professionals.
Additional Responsibilities
• Review mechanical designs in New Product Development projects with a focus on robustness and Design for Manufacturability (DfM).
• Support industrialization activities and transfer of new products from R&D to Operations.
• Design and develop manufacturing tools, fixtures, and production-support equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across products and manufacturing processes.
What We Are Looking For
Required Qualifications
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical product development, product engineering, or manufacturing engineering.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturability.
• Solid knowledge of engineering materials, including material selection, properties, and application.
• Experience with root cause analysis and structured problem solving.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with joining technologies such as welding, soldering, adhesive bonding, and associated surface preparation methods.
• Knowledge of mechanical failure analysis related to materials, joints, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with manufacturing tooling, fixture design, and process optimization.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary product development and manufacturing environments.
